Senior Brand Strategist (long-term contract)

We’re looking for an experienced brand strategist to evolve the Dropbox brand architecture. Dropbox leads in File Storage, Syncing, and Sharing. And, as we expand the Dropbox product suite we need a simple, cohesive, and effective system for naming and representing products to users. This role will define our corporate brand, how we name products, our logo system, our iconography system, and how we position products both in marketing and in UI. As a senior consultant you will advise our creative team, marketing teams, and product designers on the best way to scale the Dropbox brand.


  • Refine our existing brand architecture, including guidelines for introducing new products and features
  • Work with our research teams to identify the clearest and most effective way to scale our brand architecture
  • Present brand architecture recommendations to various teams and company leaders
  • Compile, organize, and edit Dropbox’s brand architecture documentation
  • Collaborate with writers and designers in on naming logo efforts for our products, branded features, and features
  • Audit Dropbox’s branding ecosystem to make sure we’re consistent and on-brand
  • Develop an approach to localizing names with our localization team


  • 5+ years of experience with brand development
  • Simple, human presentation and working style: you make things make sense
  • Strong understanding of brand architecture and product thinking
  • Systems thinker: you consider the ecosystem, not just the details
  • Familiarity working with designers and writers on logo and naming projects
  • Experience independently driving or directing complex creative projects
  • Fantastic collaboration skills: you work well with people from different teams and backgrounds

This is a contractor role. You’ll work remotely and report to the brand strategy director on the brand studio team.
